  • Indicator 11

    Due: September 30th annually

    Part B Indicator 11 reports the number of children ages 3-21 who were evaluated within 45 school days or 60 calendar days, whichever comes first. The time period must be measured from the date the district received parental consent for an initial evaluation and the date the initial evaluation was completed.

    Dates for this reporting period are July 1 of previous year to June 30 of current year. Only report initial evaluations that the district completed during this time period.

    District initial evaluation referral data should be used to complete lines A - C and E within Indicator 11 on the NDE Portal “Accountability” tab. Please note that if you do not have this information for children ages 3-5 who were initially evaluated within the timeframe, please reach out to a member of your early childhood team.

  • Indicator 12

    Due: September 30th annually

    Part B Indicator 12 has to do with children transitioning from Part C early intervention services to Part B special education services. All data for this submission comes from ADVISER through the district SIS except for the number of referrals delayed by parental refusal to provide consent, causing delays in evaluation or initial services (Line D) within Indicator 12 on the NDE Portal “Accountability” tab.

    Part B Indicator 12 has several components. Lines A-C is pulled from data submitted to Adviser. Information for Line D is not currently available and each school district must complete this line item.

Targeted Improvement Plan (TIP)

According to 92 NAC 51 004.13, all districts must participate in an ongoing review of their special education programs using the Improving Learning for Children with Disabilities (ILCD) process. This process involves analyzing data, identifying a focus  area for improvement, developing a Targeted Improvement Plan (TIP) and implementing the TIP. This matches the general education school accreditation process to emphasize the importance of ILCD being a part of ­— not separate from — overall school improvement aligned to a MTSS framework. ESU #1 takes a collaborative approach to supporting district teams in every stage of the TIP process to ultimately have a positive impact on outcomes for students with disabilities.  TIPs updates are submitted via the NDE Portal annually by May 1.
